The Association for Native Development in the Performing and Visual Arts (ANDPVA) is Canada's oldest Indigenous arts service organization. We create healing through the arts by restoring cultures and identities to Indigenous artists and communities.
The Writers Room
The Writers Room, an event series, presents master and mid-career Indigenous artists. The open mic allows emerging artists to express themselves. The Writers Room presents Indigenous writers in readings, performances, workshops, interviews with Q&As, and open mics. We create space for new works or "old" works i.e. oral traditions or storytelling.
The Red Revue
The Red Revue is a presentation series for Indigenous artists—emerging and established— to perform for Indigenous and non-Indigenous audiences and to connect with presenters and venues. The series features a headline performer with a special guest and open mic slots for emerging artists to perform in front of a supportive audience.
Creation and Clan Story Workshops
ANDPVA's Creation and Clan Story Workshops combine artistic practice with Elders' and Knowledge Keepers' teachings. The workshops help artists, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers feel good about life as they see themselves and their stories reflected back. ANDPVA hires First Nations, Metis, and Inuit artists to build community.
